fuel in airbox?

is it typical to have a little fuel residual in an airbox? Im taking my carbs off to clean them on my 01 srx 700 and found some fuel, not like puddles or anything, just residual and a little bit in the corners
 
twins with boost bottles don't have it/do it,something to do with the boost bottle prevents it,evens out/equalizes the air flow if mem serves me.

Yeah, all my Fuji piston port twins and triples were big time spitters.

I still remember my uncle's one lunger Doo and the big round stain on the belly of his one piece "ski-doo suit".
