Looking for input from people who have experimented with the clutching on a moded SXR700..

Current Setup -

New motor, Bender Pipes: Clutching (Turk Recommended) 51/43 with 89L weights 2.44 Steels in the single hole with the Hauk Spring that was in the kit before I piped it.. (I think it is Red/Green but not sure)

only getting 7.8MPG, and the rpms still fly straight up to 8700-8800... Like I posted earlier I ate up a fusion 900 with it and I love it exept I am looking for a setup for a LITTLE better fuel ecomomy. Without any tip weight I really die out at 100 or so.. Seems like I can handle some more weight, definetly in the tip since it revs so fast..

Running a Pro/X skid with 1" hacksaw track 96 studs and almost 0 slip. I weigh 182 lbs.

That should be enough info for the clutching gods??? :)

Thanks for you input in advance!

You won,t ever in a gazillion years get good mileage with a piped 700...owned 4 of em & not gonna happen no matter what you do!

8 mpg is very low for sure even with a piped 700, I get around 11 mpg with my piped 700 . My buddy gets around 10mpg with his...Ive got SLP pipes and he has PSI. I'm currently running 8cr wieghts, 14.5 mm rollers, and a 51/43 helix. also one layer head gas. removed and reed spacers. im jetted at 147.5 across the board, and clip pos. #3.
springs are stock. rpm max out is 9000 . Im also running the 8ch belt!........ Its not much for puttin' around,if you know what I mean.

you want good gas mileage, go back to stock pipes, etc. i get about 7-8 w/my viper. as the saying goes...."you wanna play, you gotta pay". well, you could get better gas mileage for sure by leaning out the jetting, but then the motor is only going to last for a very short period of time.
