Could someone please tell me if my 02 viper should have a whining noise coming from the chain case. I bought this sled last year and it always had a whining noise at slow cruising or letting of the gas. I thought this was normal . Monday I installed a ripsaw track and the whining was still there. Dumb me did not have a good seal on the crankcase cover and I lost all the gear lube. After inspecting the gears and chain, fixing the leak now the whin
is no longer there.
So did I screw something up by running it low on gear lube? or or was it never supposed to whin in the first place?

my guess is yur tensioner was to tight and now you got it right

My SRX was also a bit noisy until I let the tensioner back a little.
