Hey guys I was wondering if any of you have ever installed a tether cord on the phazer's?
The factory tor is unhooked when I got the sled, I was told it isn't working. My push button kill switch stopped working. I put a new one on and it's still not working. I can't seem to find the problem with this.
So I like the the idea of intalling a tether cord. I don't have alot of experience with the phazer electrics.
Any ideas or tips?
Thanks guys,
Matt

First find out what is wrong with the kill switch. That should be working no matter what and it may be related to the problem with the TORS. You will need to do some electrical troubleshooting to trace the problem. There is a wiring diagram in the owners manual.
The only problem with the TORS may be the throttle cable adjustment. There should be a small gap between the throttle lever and the throttle block when moving the lever and before it starts to pull on the cable. Set the gap at a 16th of an inch. After that, plug the TORS in and try the sled. If it does not work right, you may need a new switch at the carbs or possibly it could be disassembled and cleaned.
It would be best to keep the TORS. A TORS is safer, no hassle to use, and will be no more work to fix than installing a tether switch.
If you have trouble getting it to work, see if you can get someone to help you.
