02 viper vs competion

might run with newer 600

My wifes 03viper stretched to 136 bout same as well running 600 twin rev or iq but those sleds handling are way superior. My wife would prefer to ride my xfire 8 for ride, pwr and ergonomics . The viper with a can has the best sound out there! vinman

How do the triple piped Vipers generally do against the well tuned stock 00-02 SRX 7's?

My Viper runs right along side my budd's 700 Red Head, till about 100, then the viper grows legs, and walks away.

is a viper really that much stock vs stock faster than a srx 700??

Stock for stock, the SRX is faster because of the triple pipes. If you put triple pipes on a viper they will be pretty even, could go either way.

Stock to stock 800 Revs and F7s (140hp) will take out a Viper (120+hp). A well tuned triple piped Viper should hang with Revs and F7s all day.

IMHO it really depends. I have seen stock Vipers on both ends of the spectrum. My dad's '02 is the fastest stocker I have ever seen. It is truly an F7 beater. I have witnessed it. Mine is very close to his, but he usually can edge me out...ours are setup very close. Personally mine has been really strong over the years. I was starting to see mine go south until I fixed a couple issues this year and it is back running stronger than ever. (well so to be again, I have a little mishap currently with a broken W-arm) , I have never had issues with any 600 twin, or ZRT triple 6, I have taken out numerous Polaris twins from 6, 7 and 800.....no contest. Even a XCR triple triple in 1000' too. Have beaten ZR 800's, MXZ 800's, ran even with a 2006 800 Gade, beat a ZR9 on top end (spooled up) across Gogebic and stayed 1 length behind a 1000 Doo that same day. On the other hand I have a friend in my Michigan group that has a 2002 Viper and mine walks right on by. So as I have said. They can really differ from machine to machine. You can usually tell by the stock head compression if you have a good one or not. I think clutching is a big key too. (Heavy Hitters all the way!!)

I have a 2002 viper put the single pipe back on and on ice I run dead even with a 2006 f7 with a ods clutch kit and snopro track Mine is stock except heavier rivets in the primary and a 53/43 helix and green spring

okay Thanks lol i cant wait im eaither rebuilding my crank or buying a new one now !! The top end is good what should the compression be on theses 125 ??

It differs from gauge to gauge. But 125 would be a good number. As long as there all reading close to the same numbers you should be good.

i thought vipers had different compression on the pto cylinder 110 ? and 120 on the others ...thus the reason for the stagered jetting ?

No staggered jetting on stock vipers,,, difference in head design to run same jetting across the board....

Hauck recomends the mag size have a bigger jet on there installation with the there tripple pipes. its on there web site. I thought it was strange and called them up on it and they said that was right.
