This may sound stupid, but i really dont know!! I recently put a set of boyesen reeds in my '88 phazer, do I need to re-jet my carbs for them? it seems to have a md range stumble to it now. I've never known how exactly to read plugs. I know when its way too rich, but what am I looking for on the lean side?

I understand the Phazer is naturally lean...mid range....Try lifting the needle..lower the clip... 1 to 2 clips..making the mid richer.
You may need to richen the pilot circuit as well.
the fan engine needs to be rich to run fast...its just the design.

the stock phazer carbs dont have any needle clips to raise or lower. try the link below for mid range leanness.
