Went over to a friends house to help clean the carbs in his 99 SRX. We cleaned the carbs, removed the old fuel replacing with fresh 93 octane and pulled it over at least 65-75 times. Mid way through pulling it over, we changed the plugs and checked for spark. After additional pulls, we removed the plugs to find it's not getting fuel.

Could this be a fuel pump issue or did we miss something in the carbs?

Thanks for all your help.

cleaned my carbs yesturday.Put in 50 pilot jets. Then was thinking to myself..how many pulls is it gonna take today??? Last time carbs were empty,it took up to 80 pulls and then I stopped and put gas thru plugs holes and BAAM! she fires up.
This time I was surprised it took 34 pulls on empty carbs..maybe the 50 pilots helped a bit.

Good lord you are more ambitious than I am. Mine usually start within 10 pull after a carb going through. What I do is once I have the fuel lines back on is pull it over about 5 times with the choke on and the key off. Then let it sit while I button up the airbox and such. Couple more pulls with the key off, Flip key to on, and couple pulls later it runs.

I start them when cold the same way. Key off, choke on, three four pulls, key on, couple pulls and running sled. Never had a problem getting my srx or redhead to start this way.

still have that lean idle thingie going on.Had fuel screws open 2.5 turns..not bad..but takes a little time to idle dow.So went up on the pilot size to solve it...hopefully.

put some premix down the cyls to get it to fire. what did you do in the carbs?

it ran fine before this?

The sled is his backup to the backup to the backup sled. He ran it maybe 4 miles last year, down the road and back. We removed the carbs and clean the float bowl area along with removing and cleaning the jets. We did not make any adjustments. Been cleaning carbs for some time now and never had a sled that didn't start easily after cleaning.
