Ice scratchers on an SRX

Has anyone ever mounted a set of scratchers on the inside of the ski's. I was thinking this would scatter the snow and ice particals to lube the hyfax better. Al

I have running board mounted ones. I have a friend who has them on the skis and he swears by them. The snow hits further up front. He says his temp gauge goes down between 30 and 40 degrees F after having them down for a few miles.

the rail mounted ones didn't seem to fit on mine.

I have them that I made following people on the site. I used farm implement springs and put them in the inside of the bolts that go through the ski. I will post some pics tomorrow. I like them, although I think money is better spent on oversized wheels.(less rolling resistance) Search ski scratchers!!!

Yes Al,, ski mounted scratches are much better for hyfax and running board coolers....

Is that the only way to mount them? That spacer does not look half as beefy as the stock wheel mount. How is it holding up?

They are holding up just fine. Like i said about 300 mi on the river so far and no problems. You can buy the rsi mounts to keep the boggie but its no diff then the way i did it. This works great for me!! No slider melt or overheating on a lot of bare ice. So it must be doing something.

The boggie will already have a collar that you will need, and i cut the head off the rsi mounts and used that for the scratcher spacer. Late night typing above, i only have about 200 mi on them. Not that it should make a diff.
