So where do I get rivets to add weight in my primary? My local dealer has closed and know members onthis site have tried alot of combinations. My 02 viper is bone stock and I just want to add a little weight to bring down the max rpms. Both holes in each arm have rivets in them from the factory. I'm revving to 9000 rpm and want it to max @ 8500. I don't want to take it apart and change rivet after rivet- sort of looking for the easy route here from someone who knows. My belt is new and clutches ar clean. Thanks for any help in advance.

What part of Ind. are you from? In central Indiana there is Max Pitts Cycles, this is who I deal with for parts as they will ship them to you. Their phone number is (765) 472-2423. Hope this helps. bandit
Yeah Pitts is where I've bought sleds, bikes, and quads but I heard they quit Yamaha. I guess I wil call them this week.

I called today and you are right.
They let the Franchise with Yamaha go when they downsized their business. I heard that Max is getting out of the business (retiring maybe?) and the ink with the new owners is almost all complete. I heard that they are trying to get Yamaha back online by early spring. They still sell Yamaha parts but they are buying them from another Yamaha dealer. just thought I'd check out the news that you threw my way.

I'm a local guy who bought there my whole life. It will really suck if theres no yamaha. I'll miss that place- 35minutes from my house and they had everything. They always treated me good and didnt jab like some dealers.

Like I said, I called and talked to the head parts guy, Sam, and he seems to think that they're(the new owners) going to bring Yamaha back to the dealership.
Now, like you said I hope the new owners don't go koo-koo and think that they have a goldmine and charge outrageous prices.
On a side note, I heard that Max's son Aaron used to ride MX back in the day and he was one bad mo-fo.
