Does anyoe know if 98 SRX 700 pipes should fit correctly with a 02 stock silencer? Doing some crash damage repair on my brother's 02 SRX700 (hit a tree head-on after bouncing off a rock with the left ski). His pipes were wrecked beyond repair. He bought a set of stock 98 SRX700 pipes, but one (PTO) does not seal completely at silencer and another(Mag) does not seal completely at head pipe. New correct 98 gaskets at silencer end of all pipes. Silencer does not look damaged anywhere. Replacement pipes don't appear to be damaged/bent. Any help/thoughts would be appriciated. Thanks!
Can should be the same but i beleave that the 98 pipes sit up higher that is way the hood buldge got smaller on the 00 up srx's
i think the newer pipes have a little different end were it meets the slincer ....i havent tryied interchanceing them ...but i got a set of newer ones and noticed the different ends .....

pipes are all the same in design , and function except :
00-01-02 have adjustable collars on the muffler end of the pipes
something else is wrong if they dont fit ,

You need a 98 stock silencer with the 98 pipes. 99-02 stock silencers do not fit correctly with 98 pipes. Not saying with some kind of mods it won't work. But they do not just go together with no problem. 98 is the only year that is a bit different.
