Im having trouble getting my revs down. Cant get anymore weight in my clickers unless I use tungsten washers 7.2tip 6.3heel 51/37advan tried weight in the center but it dosnt work. sled revs up to 8600 and climbs slowly if i add center weight seems to rev up to 8600 then drop off.

So if I go to a 23 top instead of 22 how much rpm drop can I expect.

I made some 3gram lead washers that i may try but im worried that if i go to 9grams in the tip it may bog the motor down.

I just put back my 40-10by heelclickers in and put the long round head bolt in the tip with a nut on the backside of the weight so it is tucked under the spider pocket nice no hitting issue with it and the long bolt in the heel with 5 small washers which all weight in at 63-64 grams and my RPMS are spot on 8100 launch climbs to 8500 and holds with 21/40 gearing and 1.25 track 50/38 dalton wrap at 80 with a green spring

I would never try to control rpm with gearing on a variable ratio clutching system like our sleds, when they are tuned properly the gearing should have virtually no effect on rpms.

If you can't throw enough weight at the primary to bring down rpm then you need a different primary spring[less final shift pressure] or a differnt secondary helix.

IMO...the final angle of your helix is too shallow allowing the sled to over rev as it shifts out.

I have had great luck with a Dalton 53/47 helix + green spring 70 wrap on more then one of my Yamaha tripples. That should help you bring down your RPMs then you can adjust the weights again to get it spot on.

[I am currently running a Team Tied secondary with heavy hitters on my SRX]

x2 less finish angle on the helix , will hold the rpms down

Im sticking with the shallow helix, just need to make it work, viper is stock 22 top gear im going to go to a 23 like srx sense my sled is basically one. Does anyone know from there try and error what the affect of the 23top gear did to rpm.

concept, throw that 23t sprocket on. you'll be satisfied. just did it to my buddies SLP piped/ported viper w/megapower heads.....close to yours. noticed no top rpm change and it pulls more smoothly outta the hole, w/longer legs come mid-top.

thanks its on order, need to lug down the motor a bit more. I top out the 22 at 119mph on the dreamo meter.
that's around what my buddy and i get...115-118 speedo. one time with perfect conditions, my buddy hit 122-124 on speedo, but that was only one day and hh's and 15mm rollers. that particular setup pulled decent top numbers, but didnt have as much outta the hole, as some of the other setups we tried.
