I have been trying to sell this for about a month due to not having the time or anyone to ride with anymore. I have been asking for 1600 is this out of line? Appears to be going rate from what I can tell. Everyone who has responded to my ads seems to think it should be around 900 or less? No one has come to see or ride I am just wondering if I am really that out of touch with reality

1997 Yamaha VMAX 600sx with 26xx miles
Front suspension Ohlins rebuilt last year
Rear Suspension Kimplex Gold Series replaced last year
Engine had the top half replaced last year. New Jugs and Pistons 300 miles on rebuild
Track is at 75% It had 96 studs that have been removed. I didn’t care for them.
There have been no modifications to the machine.
The machine is maintained yearly and as needed

Thanks for your thoughts

Price

I just bought a 1999 500 SX with 3000 miles on it for $800. I guess it just takes the right guy looking for that sled. There are a lot of SX's for sale in our area. Probably due to the lower travel suspension and them being a twin cylinder. If its mint I would say $1000 would be the upper limit. Most guys are looking for the same money as you and I see them still for sale.

I sold a comparable 96 xcr600 with rebuilt fox shocks all around and a clutch kit and in great shape for 1200 last fall In SE Wisconsin.

Seeing that this is 1 year later, and the sx is 1 yr newer, I would suspect 1200 would be max $$ for it.

Also, last Fall We got the 97 venture 600 for 1600. Which IMHO was a bit high. Our XCR was a much cleaner sled than the 1 yr newer venture we bought. But used 2 ups that were LC were going for good $$ compared to 1 person sleds, or FC 2ups.

All depends on market and snow.I've seen some real old piles on craigs list for double of what they should be.$1600 isnt that bad.because you know they will offer less.Or put $1200-$1300 firm. The milage could be scaring people though.I'm trying to sell one also but going to wait until we get another storm.

Milage isn't that bad as long as it was taken care of. Sometimes it seems the more they are used the better they work, sitting around doesn't do them any good either. I've got 10,000 kms on the phazer and it compression tested at 145psi in both cylinders today. I paid $2200 canadian for a 97 SX 700 in pretty good shape about a month ago. It has around 3000 miles or so but that doesn't bother me, heck the 04 rev we have has over 7000miles and runs amazing. You just need the right buyer to come along.

it's a buyers market still, not great snow and most people are still hard up for money and not spending.

1600 is too much IMO
