Air leak?

Had the local dealer clean the carbs on my wife's 01 SXR 700 before we went north - once we got out riding, the sled acted real lean on the low end almost like the carbs were still plugged - pulled the plugs and the left cylinder was perfect and the left two were REAL lean - I think there is a air leak somewhere - other than the boots, where else should I look?

Yes and no - the carbs were plugged when I got it out this season, but it ran fine when I put it away last season - I did not do my preventative medicine on it last spring!! (shame on me)

Ya them two are squeaky lean for sure,id be pulling carbs and checking things out..take note when removing the carbs, look for any boots that may be off slightly on the bottom of the throat.

pull the airbox lid and check to see that the airbox boots are on correctly. seen that happen before on a seld that a dealer serviced.

U might want to check the pilot air screw (air bleed screw) which r under the carb. Set at 1 turn, see tech pages. Carbs need to be removed to check and set. Try flipping the choke on and off at low rpm which will enrichen the mixture which will indicate a lean condition if that makes it run better.
