Drop Bracket Question On A 95 V-Max

I researched the previous drop bracket threads and had a question since almost all the info was for the pro-action skid. I built a set of 3 1/2" drop brackets for my 1995 V-Max 600. Everything bolted up great, my suspension moves freely and track tension was perfect but I am concerned about the fact that I did not drop the center (idler axle) bolts. I have read that you have to drop the center bolts 1/2 the distance you dropped the rear. (In my case I would have to drop them 1 3/4") Has anyone else attempted this on a non pro-action skid? I have yet to check the center to center bolt hole measurments as this seems to be critical. Some info would be great as my suspension was completlly siezed when I got the sled so I have no idea how it was supposed to preform...

It also seems like the front of the suspension is a little far off the ground when it is not under load. When I'm on the machine it looks to be sitting flat against the ground though. Thanks in advance for the help!!!

I would drop the center by about half like you are doing so far, it will definitly need to be lowered. I am sure after you do that, you will have to adjust your track tension.

It also looks like you need to lower the front as well or let out your limiter strap. The front of your track is not touching the ground, which may cause you to have a lot of ski pressure.

it helps prevent you from bottoming out the skid on the tunnel in rough riding. i did it to my 95 vmax 600 and love it, didnt need to move center axle though. im going to eventually do it to all my old yamahas
 
I think its a great mod to all older sleds that sit real low. It also helps your track dig and bite into the snow when the powder is deep, other wise your running boards start to make the sled float and the track is not getting all the tracktion it can.
 
You need to drop the center mount, the way you have it it will not get much traction. The skid should sit flat or even little high in the rear, then you can adjust ski pressure with the straps.
 
I think that might be too much drop for a 121 skid. You might have problems turning with that much wieght on the back of the skid. I dropped mine about 2 1/2 inches and I wouldn't drop it any more than that. Hope it works for you.
 
It will definately handle different than before, will be somewhat tippy & will have zero weight transfer so will spin all the time.
