I have notice alot of stations in Wexford county stating "no ethonal" I really wonder if it is true. I have not seen the detonation problems this year like last. Also I bleive if you are jetted factory jetting, which is rich anyway, this will help eliminate the possibility of detonation. It won't stop the corrosion issues of ethonal though. I have been using Sta Bil for ethonal marine formula every time we are finished for the weekend. 6 oz per tank. Al

heh.... here you guys are worrying about running fuel that MIGHT have ethanol... and here I am having no choice but to run premium fuel with ethanol... since they dont offer fuel around where I am with no ethanol...
I have yet to find a thing that can help fuel with ethanol... I see people run stabiliser... but i think its just a load of crap... and prevents phazing... which is not what im overly worried about since my gas doesnt usualy sit for more then 2 weeks... which is still a short time... I have yet to see a additive that prevents corrosion that the ethanol creates...

Just run premium! What costs more the extra few cents per liter or an engine job?? Better safe then sorry right? just my 2 cents.

What a rotten thing to do to your buds!!!!! Mind if I steal that one from you?

It may be a common knowledge type thing here on TY, but the lower the octane rating, the faster the burn is, a higher octane fuel burns slower. This is why race cars run 110-112-116 or higher octane, they can run more timing to speed up the burn and in turn increase HP. " But if I don't need it, why run it you say???" Lower octane can cause detonation and we all know what can happen next...hello rebuild....

It all depends I think where u fill up. Some places have ethonal in only 89, some only have it in 87, and some have it in all 3. Iv got 4k on my viper and iv ran 87 with ethonal this whole time. never have had a problem. I actually dont care to run premium.
