A couple questions on the rare 97 Vmax 4. Approximately how many were actually made and sold here in the states? What changes did they have besides the rear skid? And while I'm at it, were those old proactions that were installed in the 97 and Vmax XTs wider than the newer ones, or did they have spacers from the factory in the tunnels?
i found the 96 pro-action to be about an inch wider that the 97 and newer.

1997 ARE RARE, BUT THE RUMOUR OF ONLY 50 BUILT IS NOT TRUE. DAMAN HERE HAS A AWSOME ONE. YOU GUYS COVERED THE REAR SUSP BUT ANOTHER THING THE 97 VMAX 4 800 HAD WAS THE HYRO BRAKE. THEY ARE A COOL SLED. GO TO vmax4.com for more info, 3:16 (yammie tony)
Thanks Tony, I cruise vmax4.com every now and again when I get the 4 cylinder itch to buy one. I'm always looking for 97's on ebay and craigslist, but so far, every seller has "known" that the 97 is special.
EDIT: I just looked up Daman's thread where he found that 97, that is the dream... lol... I wouldn't ride it..... ever, if I found one in that pristine shape.

There she is..... the snowmobile gods were smiling on you that day!! I, likewise, have never seen a 97 on the trail before. Come to think of it, it's been a few years since I've seen any max 4's on the trail. The last one I touched was the one on Pinks (Tyler's).
