Ok so Dooman's SXR 600 once had a small coolant leak down by the water pump. And we replaced the seal behind the impeller, the main gasket around the water pump and still the same damn leak. We got the updated seal thats behind the impeller from the dealer because he said it was a better design. What else can we do? I am about to put a damn bead of silicone around the entire thing and see if that works.
Any ideas????

Just went through same thing with a 700, I ended up replacing the bearing in the case behind seal, been good for couple weeks so far. this was 3rd time around for the leak, coolant coming from the weep hole on bottom side of case.

How did the shaft and impeller look?On mine there was play in the shaft and impeller causing problems also, so on mine we did these plus the mechanical seal and other stuff and its been good ever since.
Hmmm I get bearings cheap so maybe I will see if I can find out what number it is.....
It was tight, no play at all. I am hoping maybe what he said if its the bearing...
Well the Yamaha Part is a 93306-00106-00, doesnt that mean that its a 6001 either 2rs or zz bearing??

thats most likely your problem,ya have to replace both parts.also dont touch the ceramic seal surfaces with your fingers, the oil from your skin can screw them up just like halogen light bulbs. if you do touch the sealing surface clean them with alcohol and a lint free cloth then before installing the impeller put a small drop of antifreeze on the ceramic part as a start up lube.dooman333 said:"""""""Quote:
