Any Predictions...lol H/C setup

2001 Yamaha SRX700, stock motor, stock gearing, 144 Studs 1.7's, with 3/4 inch track, Dalton 51/40 Helix, Red h/c Spring, Stock Black spring, Set at 80degrees Heel Clickers 40/10 Set at -
Heal 4.8g Mid 0 Tip 5g

I'll let ya know how I make out...lol

Just wondering if anyone used this helix with H/C and where did they find the best spot to put the weight..

Any Predictions...lol

I'm guessing it will kick in around 4450 RPM's, Over rev to 8900rpm's on the fly then drop down to around 8300rpm's .... Any one have any predictions...lol

Before I install and fight with that red H/C spring wanted to know if I was heading in the right direction...prob test er out tomorrow afternoon... :WayCool:
& at the same time have a look at my 8BU-10s and see what there reving at and what is actually in there for weight...Going to be a fun day of testing..lol

rpms will not drop I predict will rev up to 8700 or so and climb. I think you will need more weight in the tip and heel. With a 51/38 dalton I have 7.1grams tip mid empty and 6.3grams heel and I overrev to about 8900 and climb.

Im going to try some mid weight tomorrow.

Good luck and let me know if you want to sell that helix, I wouldnt mind giving it a try

Curious where your ingagement was at with 7.1grams in the tip ?

Well never tried the H/C but did
Tried my 8BU-10's tonight
This is the first time trying 8BU-10'S
Suspension Set pretty soft
Really cold night
144 Trail Studs 1.7's 3/4 Ultramax Track
200 lb Rider...lol
50/42 Dalton Helix
New Yamaha Belt (just broke er in yesterday)
Brand New Buttons
4.5 g Middle & 4.5 g tip
Bender Orange spring with ingagement shim
Blk spring with green dot on it... 80degree twist

Conditions: Not hard pack snow...abit loose... It was Night time didn't pay too much attention to speed just revs...Will test this alittle more tomorrow in the day on the trail... and see what kind of speed I can get on the lake...
Ingagement was 4,000 RPM's spun alot..going to sharpen studs..soon
Quickly went to 8500 RPM'S and stayed there..

Where should I go from here...lol
