hello wondering if anybody knew if a 1984 srv 540 skid would fit right in with no mods into a 1980 srv 540

It may fit. I put a phazer suspension (the same as an srv) into my ss440 (basically an srv). The only thing i had to do was drill two holes into the tunnel.

It will fit but not without mods. They are two completely different skids with different mounting locations. The tunnel supports for mounting will probably need to be changed as well. You may even need a track change as I'm preaty sure that the 80 SRV used a 116X 2.25 track and all the other years used a 121X2.25 track. When doing a swap like this it is best to have a donor tunnel from the skid you plan to use to get the correct measurments for mounting holes and any bracketry needed.

Good Luck,

Phil (opsled)

The 80 SR-V had a 116 track. All the mounting holes and brackets will be different. The 80 SR-V is a very rare and collectable sled. It was made only half a year and really never advertised. If you indeed have a CLEAN 80, I would sell it off and buy a 83 and newer SR-V with the Pro-action skid. If your serial number starts witl 8L0 you have an 80. 8L9 is a 81. Jeff Wurl
