Went to do the yearly carb cleaning and found this white gel substance. I had to go as far as needles and main nozzles to get this cleaned out. This white gel was in all the small holes on the main nozzles, potential burn down? Should of snapped some pictures but didn't have camera. Friend of mine recommended the marine stabil at the end of the year. I did use the normal stable but seems that it didnt hold up? What is everyone using?

never put nothing in there and never had dirty carb ..but the sled never sleep outside

i use marine stabil and so far no problems. i put it in everytine i put gas in just to be sure.

Like bob said check screens under float also, that white slim is common you'll find that on a regular bases,i cleaned my carbs last fall when i put the sled up and i just cleaned them again here the other day and they were slimed again pilots were half plugged that just tells you how often they need cleaning. clean your carbs!!!!

here's them screens i had to clean there under the float seat, make sure you check em.

after float and needle is removed remove screw holding seat in place

then pull out may need to use needle nose pliers and gently pull

screen will snap off seat then you can blow out from the inside out

Was some on the screen as well but not much. Sled is stored inside as well. Just glad I went ahead and had a look before I rode it. Have a feeling it would have been a "expensive ride" if I didn't clean them.

Wow !!! Great post Daman!
This will really help people!
Maybe it should be a sticky or posted in the tech section as a lot of people don't know about these and a picture is worth 1000 words!

I didn't clean mine either but I will now thanks for the pics!!!!!! Please sticky in the tech section!!!!!

great posting there daman.Never knew about them tiny screens at all.My sled starts great but on wot just can seem to climb rpm's.Compression good now as I used a better gauge...Gonna check my reed to..something fishy going on.Will save this in my favorites as I am sure a lot of the guys should do on here.

Nice post, I guess that's why you're daman!

I've been running startron enzyme treatment when I have to run ethanol gas(One place I frequent has ethanol free!!!) But I WILL drain ALL gas prior to storage this year. I used Stabil Marine last year and it didn't help, my goop wasn't white, it was a lime green paste.

Very nice post with pics. I didn't know about cleaning those either. As previously posted I took this apart before reading this and found my needle was stuck and wasn't allowing any fuel to get through on 1 cyl. Cleaned the carbs before season, but had no idea these needed cleaned. This sled runs great on 2 cyl. Can't wait to get it out and run it on three.

Ive never really had a problem with them every so often they'll be some crud on them but most times there pretty clean, just something else to check wile your in there, sure seems like as years go by and the gas gets worse one needs to clean carbs more often because of the slime it leaves,i may consider draining carbs this storage season.
