Hey. This summer I put GYT twin pipes on my 95 vmax 600. Upped the mains to 160's and rebuilt the motor. I have been running premix along with the injection for safety room breaking in the motor with the new pipes/jetting.

Now, the clutch side plug is brown and wet on the electrode and one half of the plug base, but the opposite half is white. What would cause this? Would really appreciate ideas. Dont feel like rebuilding it again... lol Thanks

Mag plug is brown and wet all around

get the pre mix outa there it's skewing with your jetting, after that do a run on each circuit low, mid, high 6-700 feet kill engine wile moving still, pull lugs and inspect, post pics,we can help till we see whats going on....

From what I've found, Im way to rich
yamaha recommends 50 pilots instead of 52.5's that im running
needle is in stock spot, recommended 1/2 drop
recommended mains 152.5

I should be rich all over, and trust me it runs like it is.
so why is half the base of one plug white? new gaskets and top end, so base gasket is out of the question. Carbs cleaned three times this year. BR9ES plugs. and extra oil in the gas. doing what i can to prevent this from happening.

What causes half a plug to be white and dry when the other half of the same plug is dark brown and sopping wet?

Try new plugs,, and make sure boots are on tight....... No air leaks,,,,,,,, do a spray test...........

I am new to yamaha's (84 phazer) But I have seen this on other sleds. Never have found a problem or issue. As long as the electrode is nice and brown and you have color on the insulator I would just run it a bit more and check. Or switch plugs side to side and see if the dark plug gets lighter. I have kept running them like that and never had a problem. Eventually the whole plug gets dark. At least mine did :)

thats why asked if they were new plugs,,you can not effectively read a new plug, throw i some old ones then test.
