why drop brackets

what's with everyone using drop brackets lately, you guys find some deep snow somewhere that you keep getting stuck in? If you mostly ride trails i think you will find you don't like them, makes sled feel more tippy, changes the geometry og the front end & you now need to raise that also, will change the way the suspension transfers therefore reducing traction, & you gain no suspension travel- just raise ride height. They do make sled look cool though.
 

If you make the track longer with extensions then the rear of the skid does not sit flat. This is how mine sits right now. I will be using drop brackets to make the skid sit flat. I don't want to suck up the limiters any more than I have to.

Got ya, would a longer transfer rod shaft do the same thing? I read on here somewhere that rod extensions were available. I was just thinking there has been a lot of drop bracket ?'s & problems on here lately, like the XT posted the other day, that thing looked like it was driving straight into the ground, hope he doesn't get in any deep snow. IO actually just went through what you're doing now but then I swapped the skid for an A/C 136" skid. Basically with rail extensions you are taking a crappy riding skid & making it worse becaust the rear axle moves back but not where it pivots on the rail- putting extra leverage on the suspension.

I have the same problem, just 136ed my viper and the rear wheels are airborne. I wasn't going to install brackets but looks as if i will have to. Do you have the drop brackets installed yet.
