Im looking to get more performance out of my vmax 700. I cant afford a clutch kit right now but if i was to order from royal distributing for clucth springs, weights etc. what should I get? How hard is to add this stuff to your clutch. Im good with sleds and i know how to turn a wrench but im only 16 and i just dont get clutching. Also i want to change my sprockets for a little more bottom end. what sprocket do i change. top or bottom? and do i get a bigger or smaller sprocket? thanks

don't think your gonna find anything for clutch parts that will work on your Yamaha. They sell comet clutches and parts.Guys on this site will be willing to help you out with the parts you need. You will have to get some basic tools..Clutch puller for starters, clutch holder or use a bar.Usually you change your top sprocket to a smaller one for more bottom end pull and torque, especially if you run a 1 .25 lug track.

your 98 vmax should have a 20 tooth upper sprocket stock, you will need to go down to a 19 tooth upper..Part # 89J-17682-91-00 OEM,but they are like over $80 from dealer.

look in the tech sec. there are some good setups for the 700 motor that guys are using. You can do the reed notch and head gasket removal for nothing!drill out your can.etc...... all can be found in the tech sec!

Gearing on your sled is 23/40
drop it down 1 to 22/40
Set up clutching to run at 83-8500 rpm. adding heavier rivets to the primary weight is cheap & easy to do. Might cost ya under $10 for rivets.
