I have an '02 Viper w/ 136" Hartman long track. At the end of last season, I broke my W-arm, and noticed that my "Relay Rods" were bent. I tacked this up to the W-arm breaking causing the rods to bend. This year I replaced the W-arm, all bushings in the skid, and the relay rods were replaced. I've ridden apprx. 500 miles this year and upon looking under my skid during this snow fall hiatus in central NY, I noticed that the relay rods are bent again.
Can anyone steer me as to why the rods are getting bent on me? Does it have anything to do w/ the shocks or the limiter staps settings?
I weigh 230lbs, and I don't do a lot of aggressive riding. Last year I had the FRA set at the bottom/stiff setting, and I just recently moved it to the center setting after playing w/ the shocks.
Thanks in advance,
Rick

There is definitely something binding in your suspension,,,. My relay rods got bent because my dealer installed my bender transfer rods in the wrong hole location causing my suspension to bind, basically it was locked up, geometry was off to let it travel properly....

Ditto usually wrong coupler settings or incorrect suspension location. Remove shocks and collapse suspension. find the bind
Thanks for the replys,
I did replace the factory transfer nuts w/ the quick adjust knobs, but they just screwed on in the place of the nuts. I will pull the shocks and see if there is anything out of the ordinary...at least anything that I can diagnose!

Found the issue. I had installed an extra set of inner bogey/idler wheels, up front and inbetween the rails to aid in hyfax wear. Once I had the front shock out and collapsed the suspension could see where they would just scrape those rods.
I straightened them and re-installed the rods and as they are off-set, I put them so they were closer to the spring, as opposed to the inner idler wheels. Hopefully this will work, if not out they will have to come out
.
Thanks again

I would replace those rods or at least straighten them out, other wise it will not work as needed.. they will keep bending and not allow suspension to work as it should.....
