Bone stock 600...Wondering if anyone could give me the good/bad or ugly on installing a set of Reed Spacers on this machine...

If throttle response is experienced with mod, which brand to buy ???

Again...Thanks for the feedback....

Reed spacers are just a plain old fashioned 1/4 thick wide piece of aluminum so how can you judge which 1/4" piece of aluminum is better then somebody elses???
Ya they will add a few ponies & some throttle response to the 600 srx.

They work an any triple of any manufacterers sleds...any make or model!!!

thay dont work on the srxs.its a wast of $$.just the red heads motors wheres it gains power.stick with [oem].

Sorry George
I have a local engine builder with a flow bench that builds race motors for a lot of the top racers that will argue that fact.
George..tell me why they don,t work then I will correspond with why they do...just to give you an opportunity to back up your statement!!!

there is a gain on the srx 700's like turk states just not as big as the red heads.

the srxs has ther owen reed cage different from any other.there cages r set back already giveing good cfm w/ spacer the cfm is fluxuated no gains.on the red heads the cages r closer getting better cfm for a littile power.thats my .02 cents

Pulls the reed cage out of the intake tract, allowing more time to fill the transfer ports
They also give a strater flow allowing more hp
They also allow a a larger volume of air thru the reeds & into the transfers
All 3 add up to more hp(mainly low & mid) & better throttle response.

sounds good but for the $ i would go for the hot wires same response.just going on what i heard on them ;)! .thanks :yam:

So your basing your opinion on reed spacers on what you heard vs real world testing & talking to engine builders????
So guys are asking for advice & your advice is something you heard from your brother,s room mates second cousin???
Base your posts on facts please & do not mislead guys asking for info!

not sure about the SRX's,but put spacers on my SXR600 and got rid of that low end gurgle or whatever you call it.No more hesitation, just hit the throttle and it is smooth.Did something for my 600,there was a write up or gazillion or 2 on the subject years back.

spacers work on any triple 2 stroke made by any company in the world!
My sisters/cousins/grandfathers/brother-in-laws uncle told me!!!

i got a yamaha guru 2 hrs north of me thats been raceing for 20 + yrs & verey respected to the yamaha family.yes sx motors good hp gains.sorry :yam:

Sorry man
i have one of the top 2 stroke engine/pipe builders very very close to me.
He has done a lot of engine work for me also
He has built pipes/engines for Hauck/Ulmer/...list goes on & on!
He has probably built some of the fastest 2 stroke stuff around.
If you have not heard of Darcy R your not in the loop!

I have been out of 2 strokes for 3-5 years. Last time i checked he was booked solid & could not handle any more biz.
Let me see whats up.
