What started out to look like a promising winter has turned out to be a dud so far. I certainly hope it turns around. I just looked on the Quebec website for the FCMQ and there are a lot of sections reporting closed and fair conditions. Even the Gaspe peninsula, which usually gets bombed with snow by now is not open completely around the main loop. My usual riding destination, northern NH was shaping up then got hammered with warm weather and several inches of rain. I was out in Rochester MN on business a few weeks ago and the conditions on their trails were looking good then they got rain also. It is a good thing I like working on the sleds and spending time with all the terrific members of this site.
Back to the sled garage to work on the sleds, I can always find so maintenance items or improve ments to make. Next fall I am going to buy an Apex or Warrior and install an MPI supercharger on it as a project sled. That will keep me plenty busy.

Same here in southwest WI plenty of snow at first then rain now cold again trails closed. We have a good ice base but need snow. Give me a chance to go ice fishing. We are going up to northern WI this next weekend conditions are good to excellent up there. Lake effect snow.

This is discouraging. I invest in sleds, have one or two good years, then they sit so I sell them. A few years later I get the bug and buy into it again. I'd hate to see cost per ride once you figure depreciation, registration, insurance, gas (sleds and truck), lodging, trailer, etc. But..what are you gonna do? Sit home and watch TV?

Well We are in the same boat. The trails here are still closed or limited at best. I just can't bare to take out the sleds and run stumps and tagalder and rocks. I have taken the sled apart 2 times just foir some thing to do. I think there is only about 1 foot of snow. Have been really getting into the xbox thing and kickin some a^^.

Hopefully the weather conditions will turn around. We desperately need a good old-fashioned snowy and cold winter. One can only remain optimistic and hope for the best.
