I nedd some help!!
I did a handle bar pull on the weekend to see how my sled was running.
YIKES!!!
Two plugs very lean & One not too bad (clutch side)
I had already taken the carbs off and they were very clean.
The sled is stock except for a can...which I am going to take off.

Should I take the carbs completely apart?
Boots looked good
Reeds might be leaking a bit
I want to put the stock exhaust back on (maybe bore it), Then replace the reeds and then do the reed mod, but I don't want to do pistons!!!!
Any sugestions?

With an aftermarket exhaust you need bigger main jets I thought? You need to check your piston wash too, the plugs only tell part of the story. You want "clean" spots on the edge of your piston at the exhaust and intake ports about the size of a pencil eraser, that should give you a better idea of how you are doing.

We checked the pistons last night
They look great
But it wouldn't have been too long before they didn't

If its just a aftermarket muffler you dont need to rejet. If its all the exhaust then yes it should come with jetting specs.

Okay, You state that the plugs look lean what kind of running was done before you pulle dthe plugs, were you doing "normal" trail riding? If so then your carbs need to come apart and you will need to check the pilots to insure that they are clean (clean them just to be sure anyways), then you will need to check your needle settings if the clips on your needles are set to high this will give you a lean condition at trail speeds. To richen the mixture move the thin whitish colored washer from on top of the "e" clip and put it under the "e" clip to raise your needle approx 1/3 of the clip setting. You will notice if the throttle response was super snappy before the clip adjustment this is a tell tale sign of a very lean fuel condition, when you raise the needles you'll notice some of the snappyness will go away but now when you hit the throttle your machine will pull like mad. good luck
P.S. It sounds as if someone tried to tune what is called the mid range burble out of it and made it really lean. You may want to look into either reed spacers or do the reed notch mod. (I'm a spacer guy myself) Also you did not mention it there are any mods done like the headgasket peel mod...

I did a good run right to the handle bar
As far as I can tell there have been no mods except for the can.
I guess I will start with the carbs

Take apart the air box and describe what is in there..... as someone may have gutted it before you got it. What I stated above about the "e" clips will only have an effect at trail speeds up to about 3/4 throttle. the mains control wide open. T

I had the air box off before and everything looked normal
Just one big flat plate with one hole
