Ironic enough, the day after I posted "She's Done" about my leaking water pump......She wasn't. 
After talking to a Yamaha mechanic and discussing this with you guys I've come to the conclusion that this was a pretty common issue with 2002 SXRs and the only fix is to be super maticulous when replacing the impellor seals plus using loctite when placing the impellor on the shaft. I havn't completed these tasks yet so if you have any more advice..... ablige me please.
