I got an email the other day that some guy died and gave me 20 million plus 500,000. Since I wasn't a relative they figured that we had either met sometime or someone had passed my name to him as a worthy heir. Needless to say I didn't respond to that one.

I had an email from somebody who was apparently in africa and wanted me to buy and then ship about 20 new ovens/stoves, like wtf? They said people would die if I didn't buy the ovens. I just clicked delete.

There is a group of people on the web who have perfected the art of scamming the scam artists. They were on a radio show the other night. they described who they hooked a scam artist onto their scam and had the SOB traveling all over Africa chasing an elusive $250,000. It was a great story. They had this scamming SOB hooked good. They jerked him around for a month, had the guy begging and borrowing money for train and bus tickets and the guy ended up getting stranded 1000 miles form home. About a year later they almost had the scammer hooked again.

In the story I heard about the scammer that was being jerked around, at one point he was told to go to a predominatley Muslim region. The language was Arabic and all he spoke was english. The guys jerking around the scammer told him to go into a wire transfer office to pick up some money they had wired him. He reported back that the wire transfer office clerk only spoke Arabic so he could not communicate with him to get the money. The group on the web sent him a statement in Arabic to write down and show to the clerk, essentaily they were acting as a translator. What they actually sent him was a statement that said: "God bless George Bush, he is my hero and all you Muslims suck. If you don't give me the money I will ask George Bush to bomb your building". The scammer then got the crap beat out of him.

I would love to get involved in scamming the scammers.
