buying a 99 srx 700

hey fellas, I'm going to try out a 99 srx 700 early next week and if its good I'll buy it. When I take it for a test ride what max rpms should i be getting, I was thinking it should pull to around 8500 rpm if its in good shape...does this sound right ? Its basically stock except a hauck secondary, hauck can, and 120 studs. thanks

8700 is were most horsepower is made ....but if clutch isnt dialed in rpms will be off ....best thing is look the w arm over for cracks ,check compression ,look for obvious sign`s of being wrecked ...

8700 is over rev for a stock machine,, more like 8500... look over sled real good,, ask how it was stored in the off season.........
