Secondary Sticking... Quick fix for the weekend?

So I took my secondary apart last weekend because it is sticking open and letting the belt sit about 1/2" into the sheaves and subsequently will not fully disengage. The bushings on the helix and rear sheave are pretty shot and I had some build up on the collars. I tried sanding the collars down and to smooth out the bushings a bit (still some material missing obviously) but that didn't fix it.

With snowpocalypse '10 hitting the east coast tomorrow I want to know if there is anything i can do to get the secondary to fully disengage without replacing the bushings (they are ordered but will not make it in time)?

graphite(dry) lube?
try to sand/polish some more?
etc...

The buttons seem fine but could the helix(stock) be causing this as well? I have a brand new secondary spring in so its not that. Wrap set at 60.

Thanks!

There isn't anything out there, that I'm aware of, that will help once the bushings are worn to the point of sticking. As you ride it longer, and it starts to get warmer, it will stick + subiiquently bog worse.
The good news is... it may be a bit of a pain and annoying but it should remain rideable for your trip.
