I have 1996 Vmax 600 and last weekend my electric start would not work. I charged up the battery and installed it back in. The sled still would not turn over. I then hooked up some jumper cables and it still did not work. Is this an issue with the battery, fuse or possibly starting motor? Also, what do I do to test to see what the problem is?
Thanks for your help.

Could be the relay or a loose wire, put a meter on the wires running to the starter motor and turn the key, do you get power if so its probably the motor, if not its probably the relay i don't think there is a fuse inline but haven't looked at my wireing to see.

starter issue
Look at the fuses next to the starter relay. Should be located on top or on the side of the battery. Should be a blown fuse.

I will give both suggestions a shot. Thanks.
