I am considering converting my 97 V Max XTC to 136", and have a chance to pick up a complete 99 Mountain Max 136" skid. Will this fit without too many complications, or am I better off using a long track kit from Hartman or Track USA?
i just did the exact same swap on a 97 v-max also. did the complete skid swap , went really well and not as bad as i thought it was gonna be. but then again i had a lot of good help from everyone here 
i had to move some of the reinforcements but some of the others were already there , just had to decide with holes i was going to use in the reinforcements and finish drill them thru the tunnel. easy swap for the most part.

Sounds like it is easier than switching to a Polaris or Ski Doo skid. I'm not looking for a huge improvement in suspension performance, as we mainly ride on lakes and off trail. Saying that, did you notice a dfference in the ride?
