I was in NE Minnesota this weekend. had couple of nice rides. On Saturday, we rode almost 200 miles. On the way back, about 4 or 5 miles out at about 8pm we were on a small trail going back to were we staying at my cousin's place when I went over a medium sized bump the rear suspension on my SX collapsed :o| . I wasn't going very fast, maybe 20mph or so. I was very surprised. I flipped it over and chipped away the snow and ice to see what I could see, not much... but it didn't look like it was chewing the tunnel up so I babied it home. Not fun, I got stuck few times where someone in front had slipped and dug trench, but I made it back finally. We flipped it over in the garage, and the only thing we could see were the bars that run along the big shock were bent like S's, #$%&* we couldn't see anything else. But here are few pictures, it's in my garage right now and I've got the heater on, I'm going to drop the skid out and see what else is going on. I'll post more pictures when I get it out. I'm hoping I can fix this quickly since I have a family trip planned this weekend.

Bad luck man, I just bent my trailing arm and ski about 2 hours ago, hit a rock doing about 20 mph that was covered in snow so I couldn't see it and had know idea it was there. I went over that spot literally hundreds of times of the last couple winters and its the first time I found that rock. Man I am pissed.

Nice looking low rider. Once you find out what you need let me know. Between myself and a couple buds we have about 5 of those short pro-action skids collecting dust.

Skid is out, more picture's...

So here's what broke. Can I have that pivot arm welded and straighten those bars? Or... does someone have those parts that they can get to me soon enough the put it back together before Friday? My plan for this weekend was to leave right after work, and I work evening, so I'll have Thursday to work on it if I need to.

if you know a good welder thats what i would do. you could put it back the way its suposed to be and weld it. then extend those gussets coming of the shock. and weld a gusset or flat plate on the underside. that is if you have the clearance. that would be stronger than stock....just make sure you wire wheel that bitch and hit it with a couple coats of paint. and redo those rusty spots on the bottom too.

You know... At the beginning of last year I had my shocks rebuilt, reparied the W arm and put new bushings in, I put that bracket back in and thought, that will get me through for a season and I'll replace it at the beginning of next year... Well, I didn't have time to pull the skid this season so I greased it in the sled and rode it, I forgot all about that bracket and how it looked. I guess that should "learn" me... no short cuts!!!

Ryan, if you can find those parts for me I would greatly appreciate it, if you can get them to me before Thursday so I can put it back together and be on the road Thursday night. Let me know.

heres how i fixed mine ...get yourself some one inch angle iron. Lenght is up to you ,mines about 3 in. long, one piece for each side, an weld it back up...piece o cake. I have had no issues since!

I got them Andy......They are yours.

God this is the second part I'm giving you right...? You are going to owe me lots of cerveza.....LOL ;)!

Nick
