any one have any good clutching set ups. I have an 05 mtn viper i extended out to a 162 I was planning on gearing it down around 3 teeth. and I have heard that you need to change the helix out in the secondary. any ideas I ride in wyoming around 8,000-10,000 feet

I'm assuming that if you've got a 162, you've got motor work done. What all is done to the motor? What drivers do you have? Do you have a drop and roll? Are the clutches stock?

Well I have not tried my setup yet, but for baseline outwest same elevations maybe up to 12000 however, I was going to run.....

8dn-10's 3.6 gram inner, outer empty
Silver Secondary Spring
43deg helix

Should set me around 8900 or 9 grand is what the charts are saying...

Gearing is 20/40.

Track is 15x2.25x162 camo challenger extreme.

Motorwork is

Speedwerx Triples Ceramic Coated with stingers
Speedwerx 12:1 Billet head
(Speedwerx claims 156 hp@ sealevel with this combo)

Jetting i am going to baseline at 150 MJ, 52.5 PJ, and Needles in the middle, stock needle. Tune Fuel Screw as neeeded.

All of this is gonna be a setup for CookeCityMT/CodyWY from the 27th of February until March 5th....

I don't know what the difference would be with jetting between my srx and your viper, but I had 140 main jets at 7500 feet and I was too rich. I was told to run about 132's at that altitude. But like I said, thats my srx, not a viper.

I think you need at least a 60 pilot and back off on the main jets. I ran Bender triples with 143.8 to 145 mains and 60 pilots. Flawless!! You have to run more pilot jet at higher altitudes because of the atmospheric pressure. I also had a peak head with 19cc domes for compression and plugs and piston wash were dead on. Ran this 6500-9500'.

I dont have much done power wise, I have bender tripple pipes on it and I did the air box mod that those pipes call for. I am running variflow right now and it runs great just can get much for track speed when climbing stock gearing is 40 21 and i am going with 42 19. I was told to get the black with silver spring for the secondary and go with a shallower helix or maybe even a multi angle. I was also told to get the white white white spring for the primary. I have my stock 8DN-10 weights i just have to play around with them yet i have not tried this set up with it geared down yet. I am not real sure on the secondary helix and was wondering if anyone had any input on what to go with. should i go with a multi angle or whats your opinion.
any help would be great

My Mtn Viper has Bender pipes. I have an MPI roller cover with multi angle helix. I have run green and silver secondary springs, and run the stock G-W-G primary spring. I think running a straight 43 or 45 will work for you. You will have to add some weight. If you are running 9 tooth extroverts, I think your 19/42 set up will be fine, as I have run that.
