i have a friend that's looking to find out how to set the timing on a 480

just mount the stator back to it's original location. the marks where the screws held it should be visible.
im wondering what the actually timing specs are. thanks...
he is actually trying to get this to work on another sled and it wouldn't start he needs to move the pickups to change the timing he is trying to get it to work on a 433 gpx

Check with a timing light connected to the left side spark plug wire. There is a mark on the crankcase and a mark on the flywheel. Through the hole near the top of the recoil. Engine must be run at 3000 RPM when checking.
Or, using dial indicator in right side spark plug hole: .059 plus or minus .004 before top dead center, timing marks should align.
