My brother-in-law was out last saturday on a poker run, and just about at the end of the run the coolant resevoir lid was blown off. (98 SRX 600)
it spewed coolant all over the engine compartment.
He killed the engine as soon as he smelled it.
The sled is home, and the engine still runs. Have looked in through the spark plug holes and there is no signs of coolant.
Have filled the cooling system - does not appear to leak.
Tried to do a compression test on the cooling system, but the pump had sat in the car all day and was frozen - will try this again tonight.
Did a compression test of the cylinders - consistant accross all 3
any ideas as to what happend?
Not sure if we need to rebuild the engine - would rather do that when its a bit warmer. We have a spare SRX 700 engine that we can put it (do we need a 700 CDI for this or not).
thanks for any insight.....
