I know this has been brought up before.
I have an 80 srx that runs fine but doesnt idle. Ive got the stock carbs on it with the air box still on.
I want to check the timing before i do anything but dont know the specs. I just had the motor out and done some maintance to it and havent run it that much.
Also, am i just better off putting on regular mik's? If so, should a guy go with 36's and where to start with the main/pilot jetting?
Thanks for any info!!

RUN 38 mm IF YA CHANGE CARBS. I CAN GIVE YA STOCK TIMING SPEC, BUT THATS NOT YOUR IDLE PROBLEM.
IGNITION TIMING : B.T.D.C -1.4+_1mm 3:16 (yammie tony)

I had the motor apart to make sure the crank was fine and put new seals and gaskets thru out. Just want to make sure the timing is correct before i try anything.
I didnt think that would fix it. Ive been told to get rid of those stock carbs.
Is that the problem?

Tore them down and cleaned them when i put the motor back in. It did sit for a couple months while i painted the hood. That was gonna be my next step to go through them again. Thanks for the help.
