Bought this sled this summer. Just had the carbs cleaned and top-end rebuilt by local Yamy dealer. Sled's chassis is severly overpowered by this motor. It'll clean the clock off my 97 VMax 600 without a problem however; it's harder than heck to keep in a straight line. Are there any aftermarket skis out there that can help keep the front end from darting and hunting? Also, I'm going to take it along as a backup sled for our club ride this weekend and would like to know the fuel tank capacity and range. Thanks

Simmons Ski's or a dual runner skeg.
Also, back in the day, they offered a stiffer sway-bar, if you could come up with one.

8 gallon tank, depending on ride style and thumb control around 70 miles. Easy trail riding at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle......80 to 90 miles. Alot has to do with fuel economy.

The "scissor" arm gets sloppy over the years. Dennis Kirk sells a shim kit for the TSS type front end. I am not saying this is the only reason for your issue. Something to look at though.
