I was thinking due to the low snow and VERY icy corners here in Ontario.
Maybe I would stud my son's 93 Ovation.
It had been studded before but the previous owner took them out.
I am very familiar on how to do it, and what pattern to use and how many.
Just looking for the overall lenght.
I was think .875 might be the only choice.
What is everyone's thoughts?

If the lug on the track is .750 then .875 would work great, thats the length I used. You are just gonna restud using the existing holes right?

Yes, I am going to use the exsisting holes as well as drill another few as well.
I am thinking 2 studs per bar.. Or maybe I should go 1 then 2?

No go two per bar for sure. 96 is a good number to run, you don't want to under-stud a sled.

Well, the Ovation is a 340 if I'm correct, I would go 2 every other bar. I would think 48 studs would be enough for icy corner traction. In my humble opinion, the lack of power doesn't require more than 48 studs. No need for the extra expense and extra track weight, but, again just my humble opinion about what I would do...

Hope this helps.

You make a very good point. If you don't ride all that aggressive and just want a little safety net for the icy corners then 48-72 would suffice.
