Went riding today from Plain Wi and we were going to make the loop which turns out to be about 115 miles. Got up to Reedsburg and the trail were not bad the whole way just a little bumpy. The 400 State trail had just been groomed and very smooth but thru Reedsburg and all the way to the Badger ammunition plant which is about 40 miles hadn't seen a groom in a long time. In fact we went by where the groomer was parked and it was all cover in snow. Is it broken ? How many groomers does Sauk Cty WI have? Not sure how many grromers they have or how many miles they take care of but here in Richland Cty we take care of 150 miles mostly if not all done by one club we have 2 groomers one tractor groomer and one OLD LMC 1500 I ran the old LMC thrus from 3am - 12pm and groomed about 50 miles and on Fri I started at 2:30 am and groomed until 2:30 pm and did about 90 miles and if any of you have ever ran one of these groomer in the hills it can be a work out. Just venting we dont have a long season in southern WI and some years dont get enough snow to ride so wouldn't you think that when we have snow you would want to make it nice for the people that travel here and spend their $$$$$ in your county instead of going up to northern WI.

You should get a hold of me sometime. I'm just outside Wonewoc on the 400 trail. Haven't been on Sauk trails yet.

Not sure about Sauk county I would hope that they have groomed them. Richland County is good as the western half I know got groomed Sun, Mon, and Tues and will be groomed again Fri late or Sat early if weather permits.

That's why I keep my sleds up north. Great trails up there.

Some of us cant do that, plus we need to keep sledding alive around here locally. I belong to our local club I help with maintaining trails and run groomer for Richland County. All I know is that when you have plenty of snow on the ground and the weather is cold enough you have to provide a smooth trail or people will just go up north and ride and not keep there money local and support the local clubs and buisness. I love to ride up north also and did once this year it was great! Lets pray for at least one more good snow fall in southern wisconsin so our trails can stay open for a couple of more weeks.
