Bought a 95 vmax a couple of weeks ago and I tore the carbs off for a cleaning this weekend and noticed I was jetted way down from factory jetting. Although the sled was running good and the plugs looked ok the 143.8 mains seem kinda lean my manual calls for 158.8. Probably gonna order jets now but I'm just wondering what everyone else is running for jetting on there vmax 600.

They were jetted fat from Yamaha,i still have factory jetting in mine good for colder days.

post up some plug shots from runs at mid and top end with the porcelain and ground strap showing and we can tell better, I'd be Leary of that lean jetting no wonder you put the spanking on dougs sxr,lol

wright down your carb settings and post it,hate to see you burn it already.

I left my sled at Dougs and I think he's out riding right now.
I'm probably gonna jet up to be on the safe side though.

I would,id rather be a little fat then not riding...

jet accordingly to your alt. and temps watch plugs...

I am not riding today, feeling tired and all.Need to sleep more, haven't got much sleep in the last week.DO YOU MISS THIS SCOTTY!!!!

Beam it down Scotty..lolllll

In anticipation of my pipes coming in the mail and knowing I will have to rejet, I took my carbs apart. I'm running 153.8 main jets, 52.5 pilot jets, and my needle clip raised one notch to drop the needle. My elevation is around 500 feet above sea level and I'm still fat and have run it at -25 and still been ok.

No, I havnt ordered any jets or the speedo cable yet. Looks like I'm sidelined for the weekend. What time are you guys going out??

it is gonna be nice.It is mild out and some snow falling.Daryl is stoked..He ordered a complete new outfit for sleding..coming next Tuesday. He is coming over this morning to get my 2 other computers running and set up all 3 computers with a router.I can be on TY anywhere now..in the bathroon,in the garage..on the deck..woohooo!

Awsome, I guess Wifi will work on my phone next time im out. If my buddy that lives a street over wants to give me a ride I will still come out. I fell asleep yesterday waiting for Jamie to go to hospital but he never showed and I never called mom in time lol. Ive been dreaming about sledding all week though!!!!!! :o|

Daryl has a program for making cool videos, editing, sounds and music. He wants to make a sledhead video..lol He wants us to do some awesome hill climbing and backflips today for a video..lol

No kidding, we gotta hit those real steep climbs, I have a digital camera that shoots in HD and you can still zoom. If I make it out I will bring it with. What time you guys going??

good we got together today for a ride,it was mild out to.Scott I figured out your sled got 13.45 mpg last time out..not to bad.But today we figured your oil to gas was 26:1.And the alignment marks on pump was just past 1mm.There is no adjustment on the cable adjuster except for 1mm.So now the oil pump marks are aligned. And that is all we can adjust. You might be sitting at maybe 30:1 and can't get it any leaner because adjuster on cable is at the end..so that said you will be using extra oil.It came out to be from last ride a week back that you used 1025 ml oil to 27 liters of gas...Like I said..a bit rich but no wat to adjust leaner.

yep...but you ride like an old lady..no wander...lmao.I am constantly 1 good mile ahead of you.Got to get them front struts working again, you are bouncing all over the place..lollll
