I rebuilt the carb and thoroughly cleaned it more than once. Replaced most of the fuel lines, and didn't notice any air bubles when running.
Has good gas flow up to and including a full bowl when I take the carb off.
Runs good (good power) once started, but if it stalls, it won't start w/o starting fluid.
I just did a compression check and I couldn't get it above 80 PSI.
Am I looking at some top end work? If so can I get away with just rings and hone? Is the cylinder plated like other Yami's?

Won't start w/o starting fluid You do realize starting fluid washes all traces of 2 stroke oil off the cylinder walls.... bad idea try putting an ounce of 2 stroke oil down in the spark plug hole and slowly rolling it over to disperse the oil. If that does not bring back the compression and allow it to start then yes you are looking at the least a hone and re-ringing.

It's a 4 stroke. What does it have for compression? It could be that it is really bad and not drawing correctly but more than likely the low end circuit is plugged. I would take the carb apart and clean it again. Use a small wire where needed.

I always thought they were a 2 stroke 80 cc motor with oil injection. Kick start with electric option.

They are all 2 strokes. Mine had oil injection which was disconnected, now it is pre-mix.
Does anyone know what the compression is supposed to be?
Tony is it in your Service Manual?

You mean all 80's are 2 strokes? My bad, I must have been thinking of the 125.

Nope, No valves on the 125cc.....

They are all 2strokes. I wish they were 4. It needs rings and a hone like previously stated. Stay away from the starting fluid. If you need to use that, there's definitely something wrong.
