ten years later, lol. Finally bought myself a bigbore !!!!! its an 01' 835. anybody run one ??? I NEED ALL INFO. what rpm makes peak hp, clutching, uummmm..... anything that will help me from bloowing it up. lol. im taking out the ported stock motor that went its best et of, 10.46 @ 119. BORING !!!!! can i hope for a 9.9999 or better ??????????

I BEEN WORKING WITH A GUY HERE WHO IS RUNNING ONE IN 1000 F.T. ON ICE. SWEET SPOT IS 8750/8800. SLED PULLS REAL HARD WITH H/C SET/UP. NOW A BIG TAR RACER LIKE YOU SHOULD GET THAT SLED IN THE NINES. TELL YA YOU WON,T DO IT UNLESS YOU CUT WEIGHT OUT OF THAT SLED. WE RAN THAT RED HEAD TRIPLE SX THERE WITH 100 POUNDS CUT OUT AND DID NOT RUN IN THE NINES. CLOSE, BUT NO CIGAR,. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Keep us informed, Im thinking about converting my Viper into an asphalt sled and buying a Phazer for the snow. So you ran a 10:46 in the 1/4 on a ported stock motor. If possible send me some pics of your sled to caddy16v@msn.com Thanks, Shawn

is it case ported? bender pipes? 38mm or 33 mm carbs? what's the squish?
had 2 on the dyno. both made peak power @ 8400-8600. run mine @ 8500. heel clickers & 8bu00 work v. good & mph the same.

tony, You KNOW im gunna get this thing in the 9'S!!!!!! its got bender pipes on it. not to sure about case porting. i havent torn it down yet. i went and picked it up this weekend in connecticut. I would think jetting would tell all ???????? soooo, anybody know where jetting might be. ported vs. non ???? WEHRE THE HELL IS JUSTIN !!!!!!!!!

if it's got 33's it's probably not case ported. h.p. would be high 170's. 172.5 mains - needle #4 - pilots 60.

162.5, 50 pilots, stamped in side of cylider, BR 2220 BB ???? im ASSUMING bender stamping. ported motor says BR 1895 T.

ur right tony,ALREADY HAS !!! LOL. nope thats my trail motor now in the 01 chassis. BB getting rready to fall in 00 chassis. starting to look reallly good in my shop. stock 98, ported 00, and BB 01. dam I love my yamahas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

those are bender stampings. BB=bigbore, T=trail. cases did not get stamped. bender specs are always on the rich side...but 162.5 sounds tooo lean, especially w/ today's eratic fuel quality. measure the squish.

Mid 9"s are capable.
Srxmagic on here use to have a 780 big bore hat ran low 9.4 or 9.3 couldn't remember the exact #.

i godda b honest, i dont know how ??? i spoke to a friend he said he uses a piece of solder and micrometers. im not afraid, butjust dont have the knowlege. please tell me how.

you need 2 pieces of solder bent @ right angles. remove all spark plugs. insert solder in one spark plug hole touching the left & right side of the cylinder above the transfer ports & paralell to the piston pin. rotate clutch to squish the solder. remove & measure the thinnest points w/ a caliper.
btw do all cylinders to assure all the same.

BOB IS RIGHT ON WITH THIS, ALOT MORE GUYS SHOULD READ THAT POST, THAN THEY WON,T BE SHOWING US PICTURES OF THERE PISTONS ANYMORE. MIKE, WHO,s SLED WAS THAT ? 3:16 (yammie tony)
