hey daman..this is what I got today after filling both sleds up again.
As usual the SRX is good.Came out to be like 46.25:1..Last time I think I got 49:1..so at least it isn't lean.
The SXR ended up at 56.6:1,a little lean.I think last time it was at 53:1.So now I opened oil cable gap 1 mm less to 21 mm from 22mm.
Startling gas mileage though....SRX is getting 10.07 mpg and the SXR is getting 11 mpg. Not to shabby for the SRX with about 50 hp more then SXR.
Don't know why the ratio numbers can change by a total of 3 numbers from last time, but it could be due to more hard runs or something.

with the v-max I came out with 22:1 ratio. This was the way it was set when Scott got the sled. The oil cable was set at 33mm to..go figure. That should show a higher ratio don't you think. Will have to do the lining up the oil pump marks on that sled when throttle is clamped open and then adjust accordingly I assume.Maybe the pump is putting out full open .

you need to remember Yamaha pumps are variable out put with throttle postion,so......these calculations are only a guesstimate, close setting that works,so it will not be the same exact every time calculated, to many variable also with gas and oil replenishing.bluemonster1 said:the SRX is good.Came out to be like 46.25:1..Last time I think I got 49:1..so at least it isn't lean.

you lost me,, a 95 has pump boss alignment Marks no gap spec.bluemonster1 said:with the v-max I came out with 22:1 ratio.

Well there is a cable there,I slide the rubber cover back and it is the same as our newer sleds.I pulled the movable cable back and measured 33 mm gap.

it's there to adjust alignment marks ONLY, you don't measure there for pump out spec.bluemonster1 said:Well there is a cable there,I slide the rubber cover back and it is the same as our newer sleds.I pulled the movable cable back and measured 33 mm gap.
hold throttle wo,adjust joint adjuster in or out to obtain alignment down at the pump boss, shoot for 2mm BEFORE marks aline.

that's why your the man.I will look at it tomorrow,it'll be warm out and I can adjust it.Are the twins oil/fuel ratio different then the tripples daman...????

yes I know it is supposed to be 50:1,but we got 22:1 first run out. Will fill up the sled next weekend and see what it has used again.

50:1 is 12 gallons of gas to 32 oz. oil, if your fuel tank is less than 12 gallons you will use less than 32 oz. at 50:1

Manual says 10 gallons i think? Either way im not worried about using a little more oil anyway. And if I'm riding really hard its gonna use more oil too.

yes the 95 vm has a 10 gal tank.
if you want 50:1 you should burn 26 oz of oil per (10 gal) of gas

The more throttle I give the more oil goes to the motor right? So if I'm riding 3/4-wot for 75% of the time(trying to keep up to doug lol) then I would use more than if I was putting around. I would say Doug rides Wot 80% of the time, and has calculated that hes at 50-1, but I bet if he putted around or trail rode he would get a different number probably around like 70-1 which in my opinion wouldnt be enough oil? So I know that you want around 50-1 but I also think it depends on your riding habits, if your wot all the time then go trail ride for a tank your gonna get totally different numbers right?? Just trying to figure out a happy medium for my sled especially if im riding it hard. I heard somewhere that you want 20-30-1 at wot and 60-80-1 at idle which would be somewhere in the middle for the average(50-1 or close to that). But if your wot 80% of the time then I wouldnt expect to be at a 50-1 ratio by the time my gas tank is done. ??? Still new to oil injection systems as all my bikes are premix lol So basically what I'm getting at here is that two identical sleds with the pumps set the same with 2 opposite drivers will probably have totally different ratios by the end of there tanks or am I wrong???

Read my other post Yamaha pumps are variable out put with throttle position to a point,,these calculation are just close to what the pump does.

Thats why I was asking, I realised dougs sxr used less oil probably because me and his nephew were driving lol Hes always wot!!! So basically its close but will vary depending on other factors.

Ok doug knows the drill but remind him
do it in this order;
1st- set idle to 16- 1,7000 rpm's(@ operating temp)
2nd- set throttle end play to 2mm(adjustment for that is here )
3rd- set oil pump,,with engine off hold throttle wide open and look down
at the oil pump make sure alinment marks are lined up,OR just before
lining up(2mm)(for less oil),your adjustment for the oil cable is here in this adjusting joint, pull back rubber sheave's and 1# is the lock nut 2# is your adjusting ring, turn 2# in or out when set lock nut 1# then replace rubber sheave's half's
