1991 Phazer question

Hi everyone,
I noticed that on my 91 Phazer that when it is cold it fires up perfectly, however when it has been run for a while then shut off and left for an hour or so it is difficult to start up again. Any ideas as to what might cause this issue?

I have a friend who had a similar problem with his Arctic Cat, it ended up being the stator.
