Hello,
I have heard that you can turn a srx 600 into a 700 pretty easy... Does anyone have any ideas how to do this? Do you just change the jugs, heads and carb set-up? Thanks
Ps. Mom blew up the sled, now just making to make it a sleeper that says 600 on it.

you also need power valves and should do the CDI too (but some racers were using the 600 CDIs in thier 700s)

I am confused about the CDI, The above link has a post that says the 600 timing is differen, what would that cause it to do? Does it just make it fire more? Use more fuel? Wouldnt that be better anyways? Im just starting this year to do my own rebuilds. Thanks for all the help

I believe the 600 advances spark timing quicker. bigger bores are more vunerable to spark knock in general.
you should be able to the correct used one fairly cheap. why risk it?
always running higher than the stock 91 octane required might make it safer.
