I dont have a ton of money, so im trying to make my 90 srv a little more competetive. I wanted to do a motor swap for something bigger, i figured i could fabricated the chassis to fit a 600 out of a vmax or something like that. Anybody attempt this or have any tips on how to make this thing faster without doing internals? I have a DG pipe on it. I know they make twin carb kits. Wasnt sure if there was anything else i could look for.
Any info would be great!

well your going to have to realized that vmax engine is going to be liquid cooled.. therefore youll need heat exchangers.... alot of big HP engines are liquid cooled so unless you are pretty good cutting and custom fabbing you might run into problems putting heat exchangers on it.... your best bet is just to ride it the way it is hahaha... if you really think you need more power, head over to sacha hindles srv 540 website... (google it)

yea, i actually have a 96 vmax xtc, so im aware id have to transfer the entire cooling system over. I figure if i could find a parts sled cheap, itd be worth it.
ill check that site out, thanks.

they made a XTC in 96? or was it a XT
I allways wanted a set of XT struts to install on a Phazer II

Im pretty sure its a 96. Definately an XTC. Maybe its a 97.
I do ride it. Its a great sled. But i really enjoy the SRV. I also like the whole "sleeper" factor. Who would expect a 20 year old sled to be fast? I figure if it wasnt too much of a headache, id mod the SRV and keep the Vmax stock. If i felt like taking a risk, id pipe the vmax, jet it, port it, and do some other mods. But the sled is very reliable as it sits and in great shape. Id rather keep it as a stock sled and mod the SRV. The guys i typically ride with have sleds no older than 2000, so im usually playing keep up.

swap
That would make a nice swap the secondary from the 600 probably fits on SRV jack shaft, I would check that first because that is what would make the true performance differance in the whole package 600 max engine and clutching.Check out my vintage swap , I have had a ton of fun with it, cant really call it a sleeper though. LOL
