Hey guys im a newb...my clutchs on my 91 venture are giving me grief.....i got a new belt and my clutches are grabbing the belt at idle....the primary is totally disengaged and the secondary has3 shims inside and 1 on the outside?its off center by about 1/4 inch when tight to the motor and lines up dead on when slid to bolt head....my primary was off before and everything seemed fine....not sure what to?my brother lost his puller, can i get my primary off another way...he gave me a spare primary to try out.maybe the secondary is shimmed wrong?

sounds like you have the wrong width belt on there. ran into that lots with my enticer as they where listing a doo belt that would behave as you are describing. new primary spring would not hurt but get a belt for an 80's 340 enticer if you are getting aftermarket ones. that is what i have to run on mine to get it not to do this. i know it works in the ventures as well.
