i just watched the proaction tuning video. they say that when you are not sitting on the sled that you shouldnt have any gap on the bottom of the transfer rods. they say all gap should be on top not sitting on it. so i went out and looked at my sled and without me on it the gaps are pretty much equal. ive searched here and cant find a definate answer why mine have equal gap with no weight on the sled. anyone know the remedy?
 
The video is right, it would seem that something is binding in there and not allowing it to return.For starters I'd inspect things real good and see if you can see anything loose,bent or just out of whack in general.If you haven't read Bethvipers writeup on proactions you should, its very informative and it really does help things.
 
i printed bethevipers info off and read it but he doesnt say how to achieve all the gap on the top. i had the skid out and nothing is bent. it cycles through easy too.
 
It should always be no gap at the bottom and all at the top when the sled is at rest without a rider.Something isn't up to snuff there if you can't achieve this, possibly a shock that is not returning all the way.The main thing in that writeup I spoke of is getting the play out of the pivot points and bushings so things work to there full potential.Once you get it right you want to see a 50/50 gap top and bottom on the control rods when seated on the sled.Is the skid full of ice?I've saw where things stick and once its thawed out things get back closer to how they should be.
 
the skid as it sits now does have snow in it so possibly iced up. it has 50/50 with me on and off the sled.
 
Weird, it sounds like its not moving then.I just talked to a bud with fox shocks on a zr and one of his shocks was stuck were the shaft wouldn't compress all the way or return all the way either.Thats my best guess if all else is straight and nothing is broken under there.
 
well i let it sit outside and most of the snow and ice melted out of the skid. seemed to get better. seems like the rear came up.
 
Well good hopefully it'll be a simple fix and grease it up good if it hasn't been done in a while with a quality low temperature lithium grease.
